हल्द्वानी में भाजपा अनुसूचित मोर्चा के पूर्व प्रदेश महामंत्री समीर आर्या ने प्रेस कॉन्फ्रेंस करते हुए अनुसूचित समाज के लोगों को दलित कहे जाने पर अपनी कड़ी नाराजगी जताई है। समीर आर्या का कहना है कि दलित शब्द कहे जाने से अनुसूचित जाति के लोगों का अपमान होता है आज भी अनुसूचित समाज का व्यक्ति समाज की मुख्यधारा से काफी पीछे है लिहाजा संवैधानिक भाषा के अनुरूप अनुसूचित जाति शब्द का ही प्रयोग होना चाहिए। उन्होंने कहा कि राष्ट्रपति को 51000 पोस्ट कार्ड भेजकर अनुसूचित जाति शब्द को लागू कराने की मांग की जाएगी।
