विश्व पर्यावरण दिवस पर अखिल भारतीय आयुर्विज्ञान संस्थान एम्स ऋषिकेश में पौधरोपण मुहिम चलाकर पर्यावरण संवर्धन का संदेश
दिया गया। इस दौरान सोशल डिस्टेंसिंग का खास खयाल रखा गया और संस्थान के कुछएक सदस्यों द्वारा ही समूचे परिसर में पौधरोपण किया गया। विश्व पर्यावरण दिवस पर एम्स निदेशक पद्मश्री प्रो. रवि कांत जी ने अस्पताल परिसर में विभिन्न प्रजातियों के पौधों का रोपण किया। इस अवसर पर उन्होंने कहा कि पर्यावरण ही जीवन है। उन्होंने बताया कि कोरोना वायरस के डर से लॉकडाउन के दौरान लोगों के घरों में रहने से पर्यावरण शुद्ध हुआ है। इसका असर पेड़ पौधों, धरती व नदियों पर सर्वथा देखा जा रहा है। निदेशक एम्स पद्मश्री प्रो. रवि कांत जी ने कहा कि पर्यावरण के साथ हमें समन्वय स्थापित करने की आवश्यकता है। बताया कि पर्यावरण दूषित होने से बीमारियां बढ़ती हैं,जिससे अस्पतालों की मांग बढ़ जाती है और इसका दुष्प्रभाव देश की अर्थव्यवस्था पर पड़ता है। लिहाजा स्वस्थ रहने के लिए सभी को पर्यावरण संरक्षण का संकल्प लेने की आवश्यकता है। इस अवसर पर अधीक्षण अभियंता अनुराग सिंह, अधिशासी अभियंता एनपी सिंह, जनसंपर्क अधिकारी हरीश मोहन थपलियाल, पंकज सिंह आदि मौजूद थे।
