ऋषिकेश- नगर निगम महापौर ने भारत चीन सेना के बीच हुए खूनी संघर्ष में शहीद हुए देश के 20 जवानों को श्रद्धांजलि अर्पित की। उन्होंने अंबेडकर चौक के जीर्णोद्धार कार्यक्रम को भी स्थगित कर दिया। नगर निगम की ओर से आयोजित होने वाला अंबेडकर चौक मूर्ति अनावरण कार्यक्रम भारत चीन के सैनिकों के बीच गलवान घाटी में हुए खूनी संघर्ष में देश के 20 वीर सपूतों की शहादत के बाद स्थगित कर दिया गया। नगर निगम महापौर अनिता ममगाई ने देश के संविधान रचयिता डा भीमराव अंबेडकर की मूर्ति के समक्ष देश के लिए सर्वोच्च बलिदान देने वाले सैनिकों को विनम्र श्रद्धांजलि देकर नमन किया। भारत मां की जय के उद्घोष ओं के बीच महापौर ने अपने अदम्य में साहस के जरिये चीनी सैनिकों को खधेड़कर सर्वोच्च बलिदान देने वाले मां भारती के वीर सपूतों को श्रद्धांजलि अर्पित की। उन्होंने कहा कि चीन ने एक बार फिर से साबित कर दिया है कि धोखेबाजी उसके खून में शामिल है। भारत सरकार चीन की हिमाकत पर माकूल जवाब देगी। उन्होंने कहा कि भारतीय सैनिकों की शहादत से पूरा देश उबल रहा है। देश की सीमा पर तनाव है। भारत सरकार की ओर से भारतीय सेना को ग्राउंड लेवल पर हालात को देखते हुए फैसले के लेने के लिए स्वतंत्र कर दिया गया है जोकि दर्शाता है कि वर्तमान भारत 1962 का भारत नहीं है । भारतीय सेना दुश्मन को उसकी भाषा में जवाब देने के लिए पूरी तरह तैयार है। उन्होंने शहर वासियों से चीनी उत्पादों का बहिष्कार करने की अपील भी की।इस दौरान स्थानीय पार्षद सोनू प्रभाकर, पार्षद राजेंद्र प्रेम सिंह बिष्ट, पार्षद विजय बडोनी, पार्षद गुरविंदर सिंह, पार्षद राधा रमोला, पार्षद विजय लक्ष्मी शर्मा, अंबेडकर सभा अध्यक्ष राकेश कुमार, राजपाल ठाकुर, पवन शर्मा, पंकज शर्मा, सुनील उनियाल, अनिकेत गुप्ता, मनु कोठारी, हैप्पी सेमवाल, रंजन अंथवाल, प्रदीप गुप्ता, राजेश कंडवाल, नंदकिशोर जाटव, जॉनी लांबा, गौरव कैंथोला, परीक्षित मेहरा, नीरज कुमार, अंकित तोपाल, जगदीश रस्तोगी,मनीष मिश्रा,अशोक आदि मोजूद रहे।
