नैनीताल: दूसरी बार कुमाऊं के आईजी बने अजय रौतेला ने कार्यभार ग्रहण करने के साथ ही अपनी प्राथमिकता भी साफ कर दी। उन्होंने मंडल के वरिष्ठ पुलिस अधीक्षक व अन्य पुलिस अधिकारियों के साथ समीक्षा बैठक की। अधिकारियों से मंडल में चल रही गतिविधियों की जानकारी ली। आईजी अजय रौतेला ने कहा कि कुमाऊं के पिथौरागढ़ और चंपावत समेत अन्य बॉर्डर से चीन और नेपाल की सीमाओं में चौकसी बढ़ाई जाएगी. बॉर्डर क्षेत्र में रहने वाले संदिग्ध लोगों पर विशेष नजर रखी जाएगी। आईजी अजय रौतेला ने कहा कि कोरोना वायरस के चलते प्रवासी वापस अपने घर आ रहे हैं. पहाड़ी क्षेत्रों में बेरोजगारी बढ़ेगी। जिससे हो सकता है कि कुछ बेरोजगार अपराध की तरफ कदम बढ़ाएं. लिहाजा बाहर से आ रहे बेरोजगार प्रवासियों की गतिविधियों पर भी पुलिस की विशेष नजर रहेगी। आईजी ने कुमाऊं मंडल में लंबित पड़े मुकदमों का ब्योरा पुलिस अधिकारियों को पेश करने के आदेश दिए हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि पहाड़ी क्षेत्र में तेजी से नशे की प्रवृत्ति बढ़ रही है जिस पर रोक लगाई जाए। उन्होंने पुलिस कर्मियों को राहत देने वाली घोषणा भी की। आईजी ने कहा कि पुलिसकर्मी कोरोना के समय लगातार काम कर रहे हैं। लिहाजा उन्हें सप्ताह में एक दिन अवकाश दिया जाएगा।
