यहां पानी को तरसते लोग, जल संस्थान इस तरह पहुंचा रहा लोगों तक पानी
थराली: बरसात का मौसम शुरू हो चुका है। बारिश से जहां आए दिन जनजीवन प्रभावित हो रहा है. वहीं, चमोली के दूरस्थ क्षेत्र देवाल ब्लॉक में लोग इन दिनों पानी की समस्या से परेशान हैं. स्थानीय लगभग 2 माह से पेयजल की समस्या जूझ रहे हैं। जल संस्थान के टैंकरों से लोगों की पानी की जरूरत पूरी की जा रही है। वहीं, पानी के लिए लोगों को लंबी लाइनों में खड़ा होना पड़ रहा है। देवाल और आसपास के कस्बों में करीब 10 हजार लोगों को पानी की किल्लत का सामना कर पड़ रहा है। लोगों का कहना है कि जल संस्थान द्वारा टैंकरों से पानी सप्लाई की जा रही है, लेकिन उससे पानी की दैनिक जरूरत पूरी नहीं हो पा रही है। जिसकी वजह से ग्रामीणों ने सरकार से देवाल में पंपिंग योजना की मांग की है। जिससे स्थानीय लोगों को पानी पर्याप्त मात्रा में मिल सके। वही ग्रामीणों का कहना है कि जिस स्रोत से देवाल की जनता को पानी मिलता था। उस स्रोत की पाइपलाइन भूस्खलन की चपेट में आने से पूरी तरह क्षतिग्रस्त हो चुकी है। जल संस्थान के अधिकारी और कर्मचारी भी स्रोत का कई बार निरीक्षण कर चुके हैं, लेकिन लगातार हो रहे भूस्खलन के चलते स्रोत का सुधारीकरण करना संभव नहीं है. ऐसे में देवाल की जनता शुद्ध पेयजल के लिए पिण्डर नदी से पेयजल पंपिंग योजना की लगाने की मांग कर रही है। अब देखना होगा कि कब तक लोगों को पीने का पानी उपलब्ध हो पाता है।
