यूपी के कौशांबी में मंझनपुर कोतवाली के सहिदाबाद गांव में दबंगों ने पुलिस की मुखबिरी करने के शक में पप्पू व मुस्लिम नाम के 2 युवकों को घर मे घुसकर गोली मार दी। दोनों को इलाज के लिए जिला अस्पताल में भर्ती कराया गया। एक की हालत गंभीर होने पर चिकित्सकों ने प्रयागराज के एसआरएन रेफर कर दिया। इन दोनों पर गौ तस्करों की मुखबिरी का आरोप है। दबंगों के 2 तस्कर साथी प्रतिबंधित मांस के साथ पकड़े गए थे। अभी भी वह जेल में बंद हैं।
मंझनपुर कोतवाली के नारा चौकी पुलिस को 3 जुलाई को सहिदाबाद गांव के एक घर मे गाय काटने की शिकायत मिली थी। गांव पहुंच कर पुलिस ने मुस्लिम से तस्करों का घर पूछ लिया था। पुलिस ने घर के अंदर से प्रतिबंधित मांस के साथ 2 लोगों को गिरफ्तार कर जेल भेज दिया। इस पर तस्कर उससे रंजिश रखने लगे। आरोप है कि तस्करों के साथियों ने उसे जान से मारने की धमकी दी थी। मुस्लिम ने मंझनपुर कोतवाली में अपनी जान का खतरा बताकर शिकायत भी की थी। दंबगों ने गोली मारने के बाद घर मे तोड़फोड़ की। गोली दोनों के हाथ मे लगी है। इसके अलावा दहशत फैलाने के नीयत से हवाई फायरिंग भी किया। सूचना के बाद मौके पर पुलिस पहुंची। लेकिन तब तक दबंग मौके से फरार हो गए। पुलिस ने मुकदमा दर्ज कर घटना की छानबीन शुरू कर दी। आरोपियों की गिरफ्तारी के लिए संभावित ठिकानों पर दबिश दी जा रही है।
