पूर्व स्वास्थ्य मंत्री सुरेंद्र सिंह नेगी ने दिया धरना
कोटद्वार: पूर्व स्वास्थ्य मंत्री सुरेंद्र सिंह नेगी के नेतृत्व में जिला कांग्रेस कमेटी ने कोटद्वार के कलाल घाटी में 300 बेड के मेडिकल कॉलेज की भूमि के लिए धरना किया. इस दौरान पूर्व मंत्री ने वर्तमान विधायक और वन मंत्री पर आरोप लगाया कि उन्होंने मेडिकल कॉलेज की भूमि को खुर्द-बुर्द कर ईएसआई को ट्रांसफर कर दिया है. जबकि, पूरे भारत में ईएसआई द्वारा किसी भी मेडिकल कॉलेज की स्थापना नहीं की गई और न ही भविष्य में इसकी कोई संभावना है। साल 2016 में कोटद्वार के लक्ष्मपुर में पूर्व स्वास्थ्य मंत्री ने कांग्रेस सरकार के दौरान 300 बेड का मेडिकल कॉलेज बनाने की कवायद शुरू की थी। जिसमें पूर्व स्वास्थ्य मंत्री ने मेडिकल कॉलेज के लिए 192 बीघा जमीन यानी 31 हेक्टेयर जमीन उपलब्ध कराई थी। उस दौरान पूर्व सरकार ने मेडिकल कॉलेज की नींव रखने के लिए 4 करोड़ की धनराशि भी स्वीकृत की थी। लेकिन, सरकार बदलने के बाद आज तक मेडिकल कॉलेज बनाने की शुरूआत नहीं हुई। पूर्व स्वास्थ्य मंत्री सुरेंद्र सिंह नेगी ने बताया कि मेडिकल कॉलेज के लिए जमीन ही नहीं बल्कि राज्य सरकार द्वारा 4 करोड़ रुपए से ज्यादा की धनराशि भी आवंटन करवाई गई थी. जिससे यह उम्मीद जताई जा रही है कि उत्तराखंड के स्वास्थ्य सेवाओं में गिरावट और डॉक्टरों की कमी को पूरा किया जा सकेगा. इसके लिए पूर्व सरकार ने मेडिकल कॉलेज की जमीन पर चारदीवारी का निर्माण भी कराया था. पेयजल के लिए नलकूप भी स्वीकृत थी। लेकिन सरकार बदलने ही मेडिकल कॉलेज की 192 बीघा भूमि को ईएसआई को ट्रांसफर कर दिया गया।पूर्व स्वास्थ्य मंत्री सुरेंद्र सिंह नेगी ने कहा कि भारत में ईएसआई यानी श्रम विभाग मेडिकल कॉलेज नहीं बनाता और ना ही भविष्य में निर्मित किए जाने की संभावना है। एक षड्यंत्र के तहत मेडिकल कॉलेज की भूमि को श्रम विभाग को खुर्द-बुर्द करने के लिए दे दी गई। उन्होंने कहा कि सरकार ने जनता के साथ एक बहुत बड़ा मजाक किया गया। उन्होंने कहा कि बरसात और कोविड-19 के कारण लोगों को जागरूक करने में जुटे हुए हैं। लेकिन 3 महीनों के बाद योजना के तहत सड़कों पर निकलकर सरकार के खिलाफ विरोध किया जाएगा।
