15 जून की रात गलवान घाटी में चीनी सैनिकों के कायरतापूर्ण हरकतों से 20 भारतीय सैनिको की शहादत पर लोगों का गुस्सा फूट पड़ा स्थानीय लोगों के साथ नैनीताल के मल्लीताल पंत पार्क में टैक्सी ट्रैवल एसोसिएशन द्वारा चीन के विरोध में धरना प्रदर्शन कर चीन के खिलाफ जमकर नारेबाजी करते हुए ज़िमपिग का पुतला फूंका। इस दौरान गलवान घाटी में शहीद हुए सैनिकों को श्रद्धांजलि दी गई। नीरज जोशी ने देश के नागरिकों से अपील करते हुए कहा हम सभी को चाइना की बनी चीजों का बहिष्कार कर स्वदेशी को अपनाना चाहिए। ताकि चाइना कूटनीति दृष्टि से कमजोर पड़ जाए। साथ ही उन्होंने भारत सरकार से आग्रह किया है चाइना से किए जाने वाले समान का आयात पर प्रतिबंध लगाए।
