प्रदेश कांग्रेस कमेटी के उपाध्यक्ष धीरेंद्र प्रताप ने राज्य के सभी 13 जनपदों और प्रमुख नगरों में विद्युत शवदाह गृह बनाए जाने की मांग प्रदेश सरकार की है। धीरेंद्र प्रताप ने कहा है कि कोविड- 19 के चलते अब शवो का दाह संस्कार करना भी एक बड़ी समस्या बन गया है। यही कारण है कि दाह संस्कार को लेकर भी राज्य के कई हिस्सों से लोगों के आपस में लड़ने झगड़ने के समाचार आ रहे हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि लड़ना झगड़ने का मामला तो कानून व्यवस्था से जुड़ा है परंतु कोविड-19 से जो खतरनाक संक्रमण फैलता है उस पर ध्यान दिया जाना बहुत जरूरी है ।उन्होंने सरकार से आग्रह किया कि वह राज्य की तात्कालिक आवश्यकताओं को समझें व तत्काल राज्य के तमाम 13 जनपदों में व प्रमुख नगरों में विद्युत शवदाह गृहो के निर्माण की तत्काल व्यवस्था करें। जिससे राज्य के लाखों लोगों को कोविड-19 संक्रमण से बचाया जा सके। धीरेंद्र प्रताप ने बताया कि राज्य में केवल एक विद्युत शवदाह गृह हरिद्वार जनपद में मौजूद है लेकिन वह भी कई साल से खराब पड़ा है। उन्होंने सरकार से मांग की कि वह उसकी तत्काल मरम्मत कराए और राज्य के अन्य हिस्सों में भी जहां भी संभव है विद्युत शवदाह गृह की जल्द से जल्द व्यवस्था करा , तमाम लोगों की संभावित संक्रमण से जान बचाए
