वन विभाग की टीम ने पकड़ी बेशकीमती लकड़ियों से भरे दो वाहन
क्षेत्र में लकड़ी तस्करी के मामले कम होने का नाम नहीं ले रहे हैं. जहां खटीमा में एक हफ्ते पहले दो लकड़ी तस्करी के मामले पकड़े गए थे। सितारगंज में भी पुलिस और वन विभाग की टीम ने लाखों रुपए की सागौन की बेशकीमती लकड़ी बरामद की है. जिसकी किमत 15 लाख से अधिक बताई जा रही है. पुलिस के अनुसार लकड़ी यूपी ले जाने के लिए एकत्र की जा रही थी। सितारगंज पुलिस और वन विभाग की संयुक्त टीम ने सितारगंज के मंडी परिसर के सामने खाली मैदान के पास बनी दुकानों में मुखबिर की सूचना पर लाखों की सागौन की लकड़ी बाद दो वाहन जब्त किए हैं. पुलिस की टीम ने दो वाहनों से 61 लट्ठे सागौन और इसके साथ ही खाली पड़े प्लॉट में से उन्नीस सागौन की लकड़ी के लट्ठे बरामद किए। पकड़ी गई अवैध लकड़ी व दोनों वाहनों को वन विभाग ने अपने कब्जे में ले लिया है। एसडीओ वन विभाग शिवराज सिंह ने बताया कि, छापेमारी टीम को मौके पर कोई भी लकड़ी तस्कर नहीं मिले, वहीं उनके अनुसार पकड़ी गई लकड़ी वन निगम के कटान क्षेत्र से चोरी की गयी प्रतीत हो रही है. जबकि इसके बाद से वन विभाग के अधिकारी भारी मात्रा में अवैध लकड़ी बरामद होने के बाद जांच की बात कही.
