रानीखेत तहसील के सुदूरवर्ती बिल्लेख गांव निवासी प्रगतिशील किसान गोपाल दत्त उप्रेती ने अपने बगीचे मेें 2.16मीटर यानि 7 फुट 1इंच धनिये का जैविक पौधा उगाकर अपना नाम गिनीज बुक आफ वल्र्ड रिकार्ड में दर्ज कराया है। धनिएं की फसल परंपरागत तरीके से उगाई गई है। गोपाल उप्रेती ने बताया कि पौधें में सुगंध तथा अन्य चीज में कोई फर्क नहीं पड़ा है। गोपाल उप्रेती द्वारा अपने बगीचे में सेब के अलावा आडू ,खुबानी,तथा पुलम के फलों के अलावा सब्जियों का जैविक तरीके से उत्पादन किया जा रहा है। खाद के रूप में गोबर तथा नीम का प्रयोग किया जा रहा है। उन्होंने कहा कि प्रदेश में जैविक कृषि की अपार संभावनाएं हैं। धनिएं की पौध से यह सिद्ध हो गया है। उप्रेती ने कहा कि इस उपलब्धि को वह प्रदेश तथा देश में जैविक खेती करने वाले किसानों को समर्पित कर रहे हैं। गिनीज बुक ऑफ वर्ल्ड रिकार्ड में उनका नाम दर्ज होने से किसानों में जागरूकता और प्रतिस्पर्धा बढ़ेगी जो देश की कृषि के लिए बेहतर सिद्ध होगी। उनकी इस उपलब्धि पर सांसद अजय भट्ट ने टवीट कर उन्हें बधाई दी है। इसके अलावा सांसद अजय टम्टा सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता प्रमोद नैनवाल सहित अनेक लोगों ने उनकी उपलब्धि पर बधाई दी है।
