पहली तस्वीर में रूद्रप्रयाग जिले के उखीमठ में सड़क में बैठी ये बूढ़ी महिला यूं ही बेसाहरा होकर भीख मांगने को मजबूर नही हुई, उखीमठ के जाल तल्ला गांव की इस बुर्जुग महिला को उसके बेटे व बहु ने मारपीट कर पहले तो हाथ तोड़ दिया और फिर घर से निकाल कर बेसहारा बेघर बना दिया, सोशल मीडिया में ये घटना वायरल हुई तो लोगों ने निंदनीय बताकर बेटे-बहु को खूब खरी-खोटी सुनाई और कई समाझसेवी बुर्जुग महिला की मदद के लिए आगे आ रहे हैं और लोगों ने बुर्जगों से इस तरह की घटनाओं को लेकर अपने आस पास भी नजर रखने की पहल शुरू होने लगी है। दूसरी घटना अगस्त्यमुनि विकासखण्ड़ के कण्डारा गांव की है, इस बुर्जुग महिला को भी उसके बेटे और बहु ने मारा और हाथ तोड़ कर घर से निकाल दिया, महिला अब अपने छोटे बेटे के साथ बेघर होकर दर-दर भटक रही है, बुर्जुग महिला का कहना है कि उसके स्वर्गवासी पति भारतीय सेना से रिटार्यड थे, उसके बेटे बहु उससे पेंन्शन को लेकर मारपीट करते हैं। समाज मे बढ रही बुर्जुगों से मारपीट की घटनाओं को लेकर अब रूद्रप्रयाग पुलिस सतर्क हो गयी है, पुलिस की ऐसी घटनाओं पर अब पैनी नजर है, एसपी रूद्रप्रयाग नवनीत सिंह का कहना है कि बुर्जुगों को ऐसी घटनाओं से डरने की जरूरत नही है बल्कि पुलिस उनकी सहायता के लिए हरदम तैयार है, पुलिस ने इसके लिए लाॅकडाउन के बाद घर-घर जाकर अभियान भी शुरू करेगी।
एक तरफ 21वी सदी के भारत में अंतिम छोर तक पहले के मुकाबले हम खुद को पढा लिखा और संस्कारवान की श्रेणी रख रहे हैं तो दूसरी ओर अपने बूढ़े माॅ-बाप से इस तरह मारपीट करना अपराध ही नही बल्कि घृणित सामाजिक कृत्य भी है और हमारे संस्कारों के पतन को भी दर्शा रहा है। ऐसे में हमें भी ये देखने की आवश्यकता है कि हमारे आसपास भी कोई बुर्जुग इस तरह की घटनाओं का शिकार तो नही हो रहा।
