विश्व रक्तदाता दिवस पर महापौर ने जागरूक मतदाताओं का जताया आभार
ऋषिकेश-नगर निगम महापौर अनिता ममगाई ने विश्व रक्तदान दिवस पर शहर के उन तमाम जागरूक रक्तदाताओं का आभार जताया है जो लोगों की जिंदगी बचाने के उद्देश्य से रक्तदान करने के साथ साथ इससे जुड़ी भ्रांतियों को दूर करने के लिए भी अभियान चला रहे हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि देश प्रेम का जज्बा रखने वाले अक्सर नियमित अंतराल पर रक्तदान करते हुए नजर आते हैं।तीर्थ नगरी मे रक्तदान के कार्यक्रम चला रही संस्थाओं एवं नियमित रूप से रक्तदान करने वाले रक्तदाताओं को निगम प्रशासन भी प्रोत्साहित करेगा।
रविवार को विश्व रक्तदान दिवस पर महापौर ने कहा कि भारत विश्व की सबसे बड़ी आबादी वाला देश होने के बावजूद रक्तदान में काफी पीछे है। रक्तदान को प्रोत्साहित करने और उससे जुड़ी भ्रांतियों को दूर करने के लिए अभी बहुत किया जाना आवश्यक है।उन्होंने कहा कि रक्तदान करने से शरीर में कोई कमी नहीं आती और कोई भी स्वस्थ व्यक्ति हर तीसरे महीने रक्तदान कर सकता है।लेकिन जानकारी के अभाव में लोग रक्तदान के लिए आगे नही आ पाते।विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन के मानक के तहत भारत में सालाना एक करोड़ यूनिट रक्त की जरूरत है लेकिन उपलब्ध 75 लाख यूनिट ही हो पाता है।अर्थात क़रीब 25 लाख यूनिट रक्त के अभाव में हर साल सैंकड़ों मरीज़ दम तोड़ देते हैं।महापौर ने कहा कि रक्त दान से कितने व्यक्तियों के जीवन को बचाया जा सकता है।विश्व के इस सबसे बड़े लोकतंत्र भारत में अभी भी बहुत से लोग यह समझते हैं कि रक्तदान से शरीर कमज़ोर हो जाता है।इतना ही नहीं यह ग़लतफहमी भी व्याप्त है कि नियमित रक्त देने से लोगों की रोगप्रतिकारक क्षमता कम होती है और उसे बीमारियां जल्दी जकड़ लेती हैं।यहाँ भ्रम इस तरह से फैला हुआ है कि लोग रक्तदान का नाम सुनकर ही कॉप उठते हैं।जबकि रक्तदान करने से अनेकों बीमारियां दूर होती हैं और शरीर स्वस्थ रहता है।
