उप खनिज भंडारण के सामने लोेगों का धरना-प्रदर्शन
कोटद्वार के सिगड्डी में मानकों के विपरीत खनन होने व ओवर लोड डंपरों के संचालन से परेशान क्षेत्रवासियों ने उप खनिज भंडारण के समक्ष धरना प्रदर्शन किया। वहीं क्षेत्रवासियों और प्रशासन के बीच नोकझोंक भी हुई। खननकरियों की मनमानी पर रोक लगाने के लिए रविवार देर रात को हुई मारपीट के मामले में पीड़ित ने उच्च स्तरीय जांच की मांग की। इस दौरान पीड़ित ने कहा कि खननकारियों की मनमानी बढ़ गई है, जिसके कारण अब पीड़ित पक्ष पर ही मुकदमा दर्ज कर उनका उत्पीड़न किया जा रहा है। पीड़ित देवेंद्र अधिकारी ने बताया कि वो लंबे समय से मानकों के विपरीत हो रहे खनन का विरोध कर रहे हैं. उन्होंने इसकी शिकायत पुलिस और उपजिलाधिकारी से लिखित रूप में की थी। जिस पर पुलिस ने खानापूर्ति करते हुए खननकारी के खिलाफ कार्रवाई की. जिससे खफा होकर रविवार को देर शाम को उनके साथ मारपीट की गई। इस मामले की शिकायत जब पुलिस को की गई। आरोप है कि पुलिस ने खननकारियों के साथ सांठ-गांठ कर पीड़ित के खिलाफ मुकदमा दर्ज किया है।
